It’s running season! Whether you’re hard core training to tackle the NYC marathon (Nov. 2), casually jogging around town, walking or playing sports and need to go deeper to relieve those oh-so-tight spots that are a pain in the a**, we’ve got you covered.
This workshop is the perfect blend of releasing tightness in the lower extremities through yoga followed by the use of props in trigger point therapy. Our favorite flow will target hips, hamstrings, quads, IT bands, calves and feet so we can warm them up and stretch things out. Then, we’ll take it to the next level and GET IN THERE even further to deeply work out those embedded knots, kinks and tricky spots. Similar to opening movements in yoga (think pigeon or lunges), these simple, yet powerful trigger point techniques use our own body’s weight so gravity, gentle pressure and resistance can do all the work for us as we roll, lean and shift on simple props (tennis and golf balls, yoga blocks). Feel those those tight, restricted muscles release and surrender while your breath unravels and floats away buried tension. You’ll be left open, freer, lighter and will certainly go “AHHHHHH…”
