Michelle Timek Bio Photo

Michelle Timek (E-RYT, E-RPYT) is the Creator of Michelle Timek Yoga (2011) and Founder of Outdoor Waterfront Yoga community events (2010) in Jersey City, NJ. She's a master teacher for Pre/Postnatal yoga, developed MTY's specialty Parent & Baby Yoga program and leads playful and inspiring Vinyasa classes. She strives to be an exemplary community leader and the go-to instructor/studio for all things prenatal, postnatal, toddler and vinyasa. Her creative, light hearted style is a cocktail of discovery, expression, consciousness and intuitive movement. Michelle's cheerful personality and passion for helping others is the heart and soul that bring the studio’s energy to life, which can be felt from the moment you're first greeted at the door. She has a BFA in Graphic Design and Photography from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University and enjoys designing all branding in-house for Michelle Timek Yoga.
 

Shoko Dubiski (E-RYT 500, RPYT) moved to NYC from Japan in 1999 to study dance with the highly esteemed dancer, Lynn Simonson, where she also taught for some time. Shortly after, she was introduced to the practice of yoga and discovered the freedom it can bring to one’s busy life. This movement combination piqued her interest in multiple styles of yoga and the individual benefits each one bestows the practitioner. As a result, Shoko's style is a heart-oriented approach to yoga, combined with a deep understanding of alignment, therapeutics and yoga philosophy. Being a Reiki master (2013) and teacher, Shoko blends her healing and compassion into all that she offers. Shoko's yoga teacher trainings and certifications include: Anusara with Zhenja La Rosa; Prana with Jeff Migdow, MD and Robyn Ross; Prenatal with Janice Clarfield and Restorative with Jillian Pransky.

Zurishaddai (Zuri) Ruiz (RYT, RPYT) developed a passion for serving others during her 10 years working in retail merchandising and management. Colleagues and clients alike often asked what her secret was to remaining calm, positive and even “bubbly” during some of the toughest scenarios. While it wasn’t always easy, in her search for stress-relieving remedies, Zuri ultimately found yoga. She developed a committed and disciplined hatha yoga practice in her home, uncovering a new way of living. As her practice and studies progressed, she observed that the stronger her body became, the more open and stronger her mind became as well, creating a sense of improvement across all areas of her life. Teaching yoga allows her to blend her love of serving others with empowering people through the practice of yoga. Her compassionate and joyful style shines through her invigorating yet easy going, accessible yet challenging teaching. Zuri is a strong believer that the strength one develops in yoga practice can transcend off the mat and into all areas of life.
 
 
 

Tiffany "Doodle" Wiesend is a joyful music and movement educator, professional singer, songwriter, actress, and yogi originally from Metro-Detroit who has accrued over 20 years of music and movement education.  Miss Tiffany’s enthusiasm, sense of humor, and genuine loving spirit radiate through her teachings. After receiving a B.F.A. from The Boston Conservatory with a focus in voice and dance, Tiffany toured the country performing shows such as “The Marvelous Wonderettes” and “Angelina Ballerina—The Musical” where she discovered her special ability to connect with little ones through music and movement. From there she began teaching ballet, tap, art, music, and movement to children at Appleseeds in NYC. She completed her Music Together teacher training in 2015, her Cosmic Kids Yoga certificate and additional trainings in Viewpoints, The Alexander Technique, and Go Baby Infant Development Movement Method.
 
In addition to her myriad of class offerings, Tiffany enjoys performing at birthday parties and events with her company Doodle Music Co. and performing as the frontwoman to her band, DD White, NYC’s “most playful rockers”.
 
 

Andrea Grassotti is a certified yoga teacher for children from toddlers to teens. She received her Kids Yoga Teaching Certification from Karma Kids Yoga in New York City. As a dedicated yogi herself, Andrea appreciates the many benefits of yoga and wanted to be able to bring those benefits to children in a fun and interactive way. As the head teacher and co-director at a private cooperative school in Jersey City, Andrea teaches yoga to her mixed age class of ages 3 to 5 years old. She often incorporates yoga and breathing exercises into the children's daily schedule to help them remain calm and focused. Andrea enjoys offering children a playful way to move their bodies with a purpose while building their self-confidence through poses and games. Andrea will have your little yogi engaged, delighted and giggling away in no time — get ready to have FUN!
 

John Zadroga is a Jersey City native and has become a huge advocate for bringing yoga to people of all shapes, sizes and abilities from the public schools, to rehabilitation settings. As a third-year medical student at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, John credits his educational background for his unique teaching style, which incorporates principles of functional anatomy to produce a practice that is mindful, therapeutic and above all else, safety. John's classes are intended to be "complaint-focused," with the aim to bring the body back into appropriate motion, supporting joints and balancing tension within functional muscle groups. He takes a special interest in working with clients with musculoskeletal conditions such as scoliosis and has written on the topic for Yoga International.
 
Outside of yoga, John is passionate about preventive medicine and serves as the Women's Health and Wellness Coordinator for the York Street Project in JC. He enjoys healthy cooking, hiking, training for that marathon he'll run someday and cuddling his rescue cat "Kitty."

Shelly Menchavez (RYT, RN) dedicates her life to serving humanity. In addition to teaching gentle and calming, alignment-based yoga since 2014, she spends her days helping others as a registered nurse. Shelly sensibly melds the science and heart of yoga into her classes with an emphasis on mindfulness and anatomy. Early in her nursing career, yoga constantly helped her realize her full potential and reach her own perfect daily balance in a chaotic world. She realized that the more she practiced yoga on a regular basis, the better she was at handling stressful situations. She looks to constantly share this wisdom of yoga so that others can incorporate more awareness and compassion in their lives, while becoming more empowered in both body and mind. Shelly also practices the art of creating healthy snacks for her co-owned bakery, Who's Gluten Free, in Jersey City Heights. Go check it out!
